Camper Dress Code

Campers must dress appropriately for all camp activities and programs. Appropriate dress has been determined by the Christian Education Boards of Indiana and Western Yearly Meetings as follows:

Girls are expected to wear clothing that covers the midriff and shorts/pants that do not reveal buttocks or upper thigh. One-piece swimsuits when swimming are expected, and shirts that cover shoulders and chest. Underwear should not be showing at any time.

Guys are expected to wear shorts/pants that do not reveal buttocks or upper thigh, and shirts that cover chest, stomach, sides and back. Underwear should not be showing at any time. Swimming trunks must cover buttocks and upper thighs, and a shirt must be worn at all times except when swimming.

The Indiana State Board of Health requires that shoes be worn in the dining hall.

QHC Swimsuit Statement 2009

Each summer we are host to several Christian youth and family camps.  In keeping with the purpose of instilling Christian values to our youth and families we are beginning to see a need to enforce, to the best of our ability, our long standing preference of no bikini bathing suits. It has come to our attention in the past few years that the swimming attire on our beach is getting more and more revealing each year. We do prefer no two-piece bathing suits; however, we are not opposed to the “Tankini” suits which seem to be a most popular choice. Men must wear shorts or swimming trunks (no ‘Speedo’ style suits) that do not reveal underwear.

These policies promote modesty and a Christian lifestyle that seeks to remove stumbling blocks for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Quaker Haven Board of Directors and Management thank you for understanding our stance on this issue and would appreciate your adherence to, and communication of these policies.
